Cape Meares Lighthouse

Cape Meares Lighthouse is located 10 miles west of Tillamook and U.S. 101. It is located 217 feet above the ocean and is only 38 feet, making it the shortest lighthouse on the Oregon coast.

Cape Meares Lighthouse was first buildt in 1890 and and then demolished and rebuilt in 1963.

The Oregon Coast Visitors Guide recommends the Cape Meares Lighthouse because the location got nice viewpoints overlooking offshore islets inhabited by Steller sea lions and nesting seabirds. These viewpoints are also great places for Whale watching.

The famous Octopus Tree is also located here and is worth the 5 minute detour.

Open daily, April-October, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information or special tours, call 503-842-2244. Visitor services include a small gift shop.
